Christian Graduate Fellowship

Our Vision

The Christian Graduate Fellowship (CGF) is a community of believers who are committed to integrating their faith and academic discipline and eager to connect with peers in a meaningful way. We accomlish this by...

... holding a weekly Bible study.

Our Bible study is held each week. We study both the Bible itself and books that enhance our understanding of Scripture and its impact on our lives. Last year we went through Love Your God With All Your Mind by J. P. Moreland, and Desiring God by John Piper and Living by the Book by Howard Hendricks and William Hendricks.

... hosting events that draw Christian graduates together.

Here at UC Davis, there are many groups of Christian graduate students. We want to unite these groups under a common vision and passion to see Christ glorified in graduate studies here on campus. This will not only increase the ministry here on campus--it will also encourage graduate students, whose busy schedules often leave them feeling alone in their Christian walks. We have used pizza socials and other events, and in the future we plan to host get-togethers that focus on worship, testimony, and so forth.

... creating a network between Christian graduates and faculty

We want to bridge the gap between the graduate student fellowships and the faculty groups. Faculty can provide grad students with mature, time-tested wisdom about the integration of their faith and academic discipline, and grad students can provide faculty with enthusiasm and support. Through get-togethers and regular events like prayer meetings, we hope to help grad students and faculty to be mutually encouraged by each others' faith.
